The new inheritance law applies to all deaths as of January 1, 2023, regardless of the date of the will or inheritance contract. This can lead to questions of interpretation for older wills and inheritance contracts, as the new inheritance law may apply to these. To avoid disputes, it is advisable to draft wills and inheritance contracts in such a way that they best reflect the will of the testator and do not give rise to any interpretation problems.
